Temp-to-Hire We are seeking a dedicated Cashier to join our convenience store team. In this role, you will be the frontline representative responsible for processing retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a welcoming shopping environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) system to process sales transactions swiftly and accurately. Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, including cash drawer handling and balancing. Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance sales opportunities. Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and ensure the store remains clean and inviting. Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about new or featured items. Maintain knowledge of retail store product offerings, including grocery items, to assist customers effectively. Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely. Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves and monitoring product levels. Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively to maximize sales. Skills Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery environment. Strong retail math skills for handling transactions, discounts, and change calculations. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages (bilingual abilities are a plus) to serve diverse customers effectively. Knowledge of cashiering procedures, cash handling protocols, and retail sales transactions. Ability to perform basic math accurately under pressure. Experience with grocery store operations or familiarity with retail store product knowledge. Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional demeanor and positive attitude. Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of merchandising principles to enhance product presentation. Must be 18+ for this position.

Pay:

Starting at $16.50/hour plus $1/hour night shift differential

Schedule:

Third Shift:
