Duties Operate the cash register efficiently, accurately handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods while maintaining a balanced cash drawer. Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Upsell items and promote store specials or new products to enhance sales opportunities. Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure products are well-presented to attract customers' attention. Maintain store cleanliness and ensure aisles are tidy to create an inviting shopping environment. Follow phone etiquette standards when taking orders or assisting customers over the phone. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and participating in stocking activities. Use POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail transactions while applying basic math skills for totals, discounts, and change. Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring compliance with store standards. Engage in effective communication with team members to coordinate daily operations smoothly. Qualifications Previous cashiering or retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers. Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a broader customer base. Basic math skills necessary for handling cash transactions confidently. Experience with POS systems and cash register operations is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Supervising experience or leadership skills are beneficial for supporting team efforts.
