Junior Creative Assets Coordinator | Lombard, IL Explorer | Lombard, Illinois (On-site)
Department:
Explorer Research Employment Type:
Hourly, Full-Time Location:
Lombard, IL (On-site)
Level:
Entry-level No research experience needed. If you have a background in visual arts, photography, graphic design, or creative project coordination and you like staying organized, getting things done, and working with a collaborative team, this role could be a great fit. About Us At Explorer, we are shopper research experts, specializing in Pack, Planogram, Retail, Signage, and Path-to-Purchase research. We help our clients understand how shoppers behave in the real world and use that understanding to make better decisions about how their products look, feel, and show up on shelf. As part of Savanta and the broader Next 15 group, we work across global markets while maintaining a close-knit, hands-on team culture. About the Role This is a junior, hourly, on-site support role designed for someone early in their creative career. You will sit at the intersection of our graphics and research teams, keeping the visual side of our shopper research work running smoothly. Think of it as creative operations: sourcing products and photography at local stores, getting images organized and ready for our designers, maintaining our asset library, and making sure planogram and pricing details are accurate and up to date. You will not be doing research analysis, but your work directly powers the people who do. Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:
Visiting local retail stores to source products, photograph shelf sets, and note what is new or changed in-store
Sourcing, reviewing, and preparing images for the graphics team, including basic editing, cropping, and file formatting
Maintaining and organizing our image and asset database so everything is accurately labeled and easy to find
Checking planograms and pricing details for accuracy and flagging anything that needs attention
Coordinating with designers and researchers to track tasks, manage timelines, and keep projects moving
Using Excel and internal tools to log, track, and manage assets and project data
Providing general visual and administrative support to the wider team as needed About You You do not need a background in market research.
What we are looking for is someone with a creative eye, strong organizational instincts, and a genuine enthusiasm for doing good work. Whether your background is in photography, graphic design, visual arts, or creative project coordination, what matters most is that you are reliable, detail-oriented, and ready to jump in. You should be able to demonstrate:
A background or coursework in graphic design, photography, visual arts, or a related creative field
Strong computer literacy, including working experience with Microsoft Excel
A reliable personal vehicle for local store visits (required)
Great attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, especially when checking visual assets or product information
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with team members and engaging confidently in store environments
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize well, and adapt to a varied day
A positive, energetic attitude with strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar image editing tools is a plus, but not required What We Offer
Pay from $25.00 per hour
Expected hours of 30 to 40 per week
Mileage reimbursement for all store visits To Apply To be considered for this vacancy, please submit your resume with a short cover letter.
The cover letter should tell us a bit about you, your creative background, and why you are interested in this role at Explorer. We encourage authentic responses that reflect your own experience and approach. Candidates should avoid relying on Generative AI to write cover letters or application responses, as this may be considered during the review process.
