Specialty toy retailer in Oak Park, IL is looking for an organized, creative, affable candidate to join our Customer Service Team. Responsibilities include:

Working with customers to find the best solutions to their needs; utilize values of play and child development in all customer interactions. . Wrapping of products to create a neat, tidy and beautiful presentation for the customer. Checking in product, pricing product, storing and/or merchandising product in sensible, creative ways. Merchandising product and developing window displays; creating innovative and interesting displays of product in response to changing sales and inventory needs. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout all areas of the store. Regular stocking of product on the sales floor. Monitoring web site sales, preparing sales transaction and shipment of products. Personal characteristics required to be on our Team include: Charismatic

Skills and abilities required:

Customer service experience in retail or other related sales/relationship field; leadership training a huge plus. Strong interpersonal skills; builds and develops relationships with customers and Team Members. Solid spatial reasoning skills; creative vision to construct effective window displays that are in line with current sales cycles and ongoing merchandising needs. Artistic abilities and merchandising experience and/or training is a must. Weekend availability; our heaviest traffic period, and coverage need, is on the weekends; the ability to work during this time is mandatory. (Vacation time longer than one day is not granted between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.) Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of customer service. Type and operate a computerized sales terminal while handling product; familiarity with retail POS systems a plus. Ability to navigate a dynamic retail environment with focus and calm. (Holiday seasons demand constant movement and require the ability to ebb and flow with increased customer traffic.) Mindfully gift wrap presents, pack boxes and prepare items for shipping. Ability to stand and walk during entire shift, as well as navigate multiple stairs all day long. Strong math skills and attention to detail. Lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance, including boxes and product, up and down stairs or across the store space. Bending, rotating and reaching conducive to a retail environment including climbing and navigating work on ladders as well as handling receiving, pricing and movement of store merchandise, fixtures, and cartons of product.

Education required:
