Key Responsibilities Auction Operations Assist with the preparation, coordination, and execution of auction events. Assist with auction setup, equipment organization, lot layout, signage, and event preparation. Help prepare the auction yard and equipment for upcoming sales. Assist with auction teardown and cleanup following completed auctions. Work with the auction operations team to ensure auction events run smoothly and efficiently. Assist with off-site auction preparation and operations as needed. Inventory & Equipment Operations Assist with managing consigned inventory from arrival through final pickup. Help move, organize, and stage equipment throughout the auction yard. Tag, number, photograph, and organize auction inventory. Help gather basic information about equipment for auction listings. Assist customers with locating equipment and auction items. Help maintain accurate equipment locations and inventory information. Assist with equipment cleaning and preparation prior to sale. Safely operate and move equipment when properly trained and authorized. Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment before and after auctions. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe auction yard. Customer Service Assist customers and bidders with locating equipment and auction items. Provide professional and courteous customer service. Help answer basic questions regarding equipment and auction procedures. Direct customers to the appropriate team member when additional information or assistance is needed. Represent Hamilton-Maring Auction Group professionally when interacting with customers and the public. Team & Daily Operations Work closely with other team members to complete daily auction operations. Follow instructions from supervisors and project managers. Complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely. Assist other departments and team members when needed. Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Take initiative and pitch in wherever needed to help the team successfully complete auction projects. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic. Willingness to learn and take direction. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working around agricultural, construction, and heavy equipment. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle equipment and auction items. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience operating farm, construction, or heavy equipment is preferred but not required. Farming or agricultural experience is a plus. Previous auction experience is a plus but not required. Mechanical or equipment knowledge is a plus. Ability to use smartphones, tablets, computers, and basic company software is preferred. Travel & Event Support Travel to off-site auction locations as needed. Assist with equipment movement, auction setup, lot organization, signage, and event preparation. Assist with equipment loading and unloading before and after auctions. Work extended hours when necessary during auction preparation, sale days, and teardown. Weekend work may be required based on auction schedules and business needs. Represent Hamilton-Maring Auction Group professionally while traveling and interacting with customers. Schedule Full-time position based out of the Kenyon, Minnesota auction facility. Typical schedule will be based on auction schedules and business needs. Hours may vary depending on auction preparation, sale days, equipment arrivals and pickups, and seasonal workload. Additional hours may be required during busy auction periods. Weekend work may be required as business needs dictate. Physical Requirements & Equipment Operation Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk large auction lots and work around equipment for extended periods. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and move throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate and move agricultural and construction equipment after receiving proper training and authorization. Ability to assist with loading, unloading, and positioning equipment. Ability to safely work around moving equipment, trucks, trailers, and other machinery. Ability to perform basic equipment cleaning and preparation. Ability to follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating instructions. Compensation $18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, equipment knowledge, and level of responsibility. Work Environment This is a hands-on position involving both indoor and outdoor work. Employees will regularly work around agricultural equipment, construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and other heavy machinery. The position requires standing, walking, lifting, moving equipment, working in varying weather conditions, and assisting customers and coworkers throughout the auction process. The successful candidate will be someone who is dependable, hardworking, willing to learn, and willing to pitch in wherever needed to help the entire team put on successful auctions.
