THE SHIFT

12:45 PM to close — 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday, 8:00 PM on Sunday. Saturday and Sunday are required most weekends. Full time or part time. About the Job Tideway Market is a family-owned convenience store, fuel station, and kitchen in Hancock. Plenty of folks come in for the food and stay for the conversation. We're more than a gas stop — we're a gathering place for locals and travelers alike. We're hiring an evening team member who can run the register and keep the store running behind it. The person who greets the regulars by name, keeps the line moving through the supper rush, and heads for the cooler when it quiets down. This isn't a stand-behind-the-counter job. It's for someone who sees what needs doing and does it.

What You Will Do At the register Greet every customer and ring them up quickly and accurately — fuel, groceries, food orders, and lottery Handle age-restricted sales (tobacco, beer, wine, liquor, and lottery) carefully, checking ID every time it's required Keep the line moving when it's busy, without ever making anyone feel rushed Keep the counter area clean, organized, and stocked Around the store Stock the walk-in cooler and cooler doors, including top and bottom shelves by ladder Stock and face shelves on the sales floor so products are there when customers want them Check and clean restrooms and help keep the whole store looking its best Pitch in wherever the shift needs you — covering the register or helping a customer find something Help close the store right: restock, clean, and leave the morning crew set up for a strong start at 5:00 AM Communicate clearly with your shift leader about shortages, problems, or anything that needs attention Who We're Looking For Good with people. Requirements Available 12:45 PM until close Available Saturday and Sunday most weekends A short, dependable commute — within about 30 minutes of Hancock 18 or older (this job includes tobacco, alcohol, and lottery sales) Able to stay on your feet and active for a full shift, climb a ladder, work inside a walk-in cooler, and lift up to 30 lbs Register or cash-handling experience preferred, but not required.
