Direct Hire A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Shipping Department Manager to oversee day-to-day shipping operations and help keep the department running safely, accurately, and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who already has solid shipping experience and is comfortable working with regulated materials, shipping documentation, freight systems, and a fast-paced operation. The ideal candidate is driven, dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to take on a challenge. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the shipping department Coordinate and manage outgoing shipments to ensure orders are prepared and shipped accurately and on schedule Prepare and complete shipping documentation, records, and required paperwork Handle shipments in accordance with applicable HAZMAT, Dangerous Goods, IATA, DOT, and IMDG regulations Enter shipment information and other data accurately using computer systems and online shipping platforms, including the FedEx website Verify package weights, dimensions, quantities, and other shipment information Ensure shipments are properly packaged, labeled, documented, and prepared for transportation Operate or coordinate the use of forklifts and other material-handling equipment Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shipping area Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve shipping issues and meet customer and operational needs Provide hands-on support within the shipping department as needed Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements Qualifications 3-5 years of professional shipping experience , including experience with regulated or hazardous-material shipments Working knowledge of HAZMAT/Dangerous Goods, IATA, DOT, and

IMDG/OMDG

shipping regulations High school diploma or GED required Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete shipping paperwork Comfortable using computers and web-based shipping systems Ability to enter and retrieve data accurately Good understanding of weights, measurements, package dimensions, and quantities Forklift certification preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate Ability to regularly lift and carry packages weighing up to 80 lbs. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while also being a dependable team player Strong communication skills and a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities Must be legally authorized to work in the United States What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is driven, hardworking, and ready for a challenge .
