Job Description

The mission of the Gilmore Car Museum is to tell the history of America through the automobile. We foster experiences which connect people with the history, heritage and social impact of the automobile through collecting, preserving, and interpreting its story.
Position Description:
The Retail Store Manager at the Gilmore Car Museum will provide oversight into the smooth operation of the Retail Store. This includes all general Museum non-food service retail efforts, including but not limited to an onsite physical store, online, on-site mobile or other retail endeavors. The Retail Store Manager will serve as a key player to ensure the success of Cruise-Ins, Car Shows and Gilmore Car Museum Special Events. This position will require evening and weekend availability.
Skills & Abilities:
Manage daily store operations including the following: Opening store: confirm daily start up cash and store presentation. Review inventory & sales summary replenishing merchandise as needed while managing inventory costs. Manage customer service including serving as an information center Greet customers, manage admissions and store sales, provide maps and directions. Assist with retail staff proper training on all aspects required to perform their duties. Provide retail staff with proper training in all aspects required to perform their duties. Calculate per item costs including shipping and retail pricing. Work directly with museum partners as required to display their merchandise, tracking and producing quarterly item sales reports and funds due to same. Receive merchandise, reconcile inventory against purchase orders, track and maintain proper inventory and records. Responsible for all development of successful merchandise displays and presentations. Actively communicates with the Director of Guest Services regarding all aspects of the Museum retail endeavors and performance of same. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
3 years leadership in a retail setting Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with teams Proactive instore planning skills Interpersonal communication skills Strong sales abilities Customer service skills Organization skills Ability to operate basic business software programs High School Diploma or equivalent. Weekends and some evening availability based on seasonal needs
