Job Description

General Manager — D-BAT Ogden D-BAT Ogden is a new, state-of-the-art baseball and softball training facility opening soon just north of Salt Lake City. As part of the nationwide D-BAT network, the facility will provide athletes of all ages and skill levels with access to professional instruction, batting cages, memberships, camps, clinics, and year-round player development opportunities. Our goal is to become a central part of the Northern Utah baseball and softball community by providing an exceptional training environment for players, families, coaches, teams, and local organizations. As a new location, D-BAT Ogden offers a unique opportunity to help build the business from the ground up. The General Manager will play a major role in establishing the facility's culture, developing the team, creating relationships throughout the community, and building a strong membership and customer base from day one. Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership position responsible for the successful launch, growth, and day-to-day operation of D-BAT Ogden. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable leading a team, building relationships, driving sales, developing instructors, and managing daily operations . Prior to opening, the General Manager will assist with hiring and training the facility team, developing relationships with local baseball and softball organizations, supporting pre-opening membership and marketing efforts, and preparing the facility for a successful launch. Once open, the General Manager will have overall responsibility for facility performance, including revenue growth, memberships, lessons, camps and clinics, customer experience, instructor performance, staffing, local marketing, community partnerships, and operational execution. Key Responsibilities Lead the pre-opening and launch process for D-BAT Ogden, helping establish the team, culture, operating standards, and initial customer base. Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and develop front-office staff and instructors. Create a high-energy, welcoming environment that delivers an exceptional experience for athletes and families. Drive facility revenue through memberships, lessons, camps, clinics, cage rentals, retail sales, events, and other programming. Develop and execute strategies to acquire new members while improving member engagement, retention, and overall customer lifetime value. Recruit and develop high-quality baseball and softball instructors while helping them build and retain strong lesson books. Monitor instructor performance, lesson volume, scheduling, utilization, customer retention, and other key performance indicators. Build relationships with local Little Leagues, youth associations, high schools, travel organizations, coaches, teams, and other community partners. Develop partnerships, sponsorships, events, and grassroots marketing initiatives that increase awareness and drive traffic to the facility. Plan, promote, and execute camps, clinics, player-development programs, special events, and seasonal programming. Manage daily facility operations, including staffing, scheduling, customer service, cleanliness, safety, equipment, inventory, and facility maintenance. Monitor financial and operational performance, including revenue, labor, expenses, budgets, sales trends, and facility KPIs. Use facility management, scheduling, point-of-sale, CRM, and reporting systems to manage performance and identify opportunities. Resolve customer concerns professionally and empower the team to deliver excellent service. Maintain D-BAT operating standards and ensure the facility consistently represents the D-BAT brand at a high level. Work closely with ownership and leadership to establish priorities, review performance, and execute growth initiatives. Qualifications Previous leadership or management experience with responsibility for employees, customers, and day-to-day business operations. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable. Strong sales and business-development mindset with the ability to build relationships and generate new business. Excellent customer-service and communication skills. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable working with financial reports, budgets, sales targets, and performance metrics. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and take ownership of results. Comfortable using point-of-sale systems, scheduling platforms, CRM tools, reporting systems, and common business applications. Willingness to be highly involved in the local community and proactively develop partnerships with baseball and softball organizations. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods based on facility needs. Baseball, softball, sports-facility, recreation, fitness, hospitality, or membership-based business experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the Northern Utah baseball and softball community is a significant plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in business, sports management, recreation, or a related field is preferred but not required. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is more than a facility manager. We're looking for someone who wants to build a business and become a leader within the local baseball and softball community . This person should be comfortable walking through the facility and coaching an employee, meeting with a local youth organization about a partnership, helping an instructor grow their lesson business, talking with a parent about membership options, reviewing the facility's KPIs, and developing a plan to increase revenue—all in the same day. Because D-BAT Ogden is a new location, the right General Manager will have the opportunity to help shape the culture and growth of the facility from the beginning and play a significant role in establishing D-BAT as a premier baseball and softball training destination in Northern Utah.
