Sustaining Mechanical Engineer responsible for released-product support, manufacturing stability, engineering changes, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electromechanical laser systems. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 2-4 years of relevant sustaining, manufacturing, mechanical, or product engineering experience. Hands-on experience supporting assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and production of mechanical or electromechanical systems. Experience with sustaining, manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering. Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as: Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)
PFMEA 8D
Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drafting. Working knowledge of GD&T. Working knowledge of
ASME Y14.5.
Experience with engineering change control, released-product documentation, and configuration management. Experience creating or revising manufacturing drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and technical documentation. Experience supporting manufacturability-focused design changes. Preferred Skills Experience with SolidWorks PDM. Experience supporting high-power laser, optical, optomechanical, or similar electromechanical products. Experience with DFM and DFA. Experience performing tolerance analysis. Experience designing manufacturing or test fixtures. Experience evaluating materials, suppliers, and component alternatives. Experience supporting reliability and cost-reduction initiatives. Experience troubleshooting supplier, manufacturing, field, or service failures. Experience improving manufacturing yield, throughput, and test processes. Job Responsibilities Provide sustaining engineering support for released products and daily manufacturing requirements. Investigate manufacturing, assembly, test, supplier, field, and service-related product issues. Perform failure analysis and structured root-cause investigations. Develop and implement corrective actions for recurring product and manufacturing issues. Create and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Update engineering drawings, Bills of Material, configurations, deviations, and released documentation. Maintain configuration control for production designs and engineering records. Create and revise SolidWorks models and 2D drawings. Develop and maintain manufacturing fixtures, work instructions, and test documentation. Apply GD&T and
ASME Y14.5
requirements to engineering documentation. Support improvements to assembly methods, test processes, production yield, throughput, and product consistency. Perform DFM/DFA reviews and manufacturability-focused design updates. Support tolerance analysis and mechanical design improvements. Evaluate material, component, and supplier changes. Support product reliability, serviceability, quality, and cost-reduction initiatives. Support safety and regulatory updates for released products.
Pay:
