Sales Engineer - EV Posted on September 14, 2026 September 14, 2026 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Sales Engineer to drive business growth within the electric vehicle (EV) market. This role will combine technical expertise with strong commercial skills to identify customer needs, develop solutions, build relationships, and support the sales process from initial opportunity through successful implementation. Position Responsibilities Business Development and Sales Growth Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the EV and related technology markets. Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and opportunities. Develop long-term relationships with customers and key industry stakeholders. Technical Sales Support Understand customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions. Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution proposals. Translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling value propositions. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements. Customer Relationship Management Build strong relationships with engineering, purchasing, operations, and leadership teams. Serve as a trusted technical and commercial resource throughout the customer relationship. Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate support for technical questions and concerns. Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships. Proposal and Commercial Management Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical documentation. Support pricing discussions, negotiations, and commercial agreements. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with customer needs. Monitor market trends and competitive activity to support business strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Quality, and other internal teams. Communicate customer requirements and market feedback to support product and business development. Support the successful transition of projects from the sales process through implementation. Participate in industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows as needed. Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. Experience in technical sales, sales engineering, business development, or a related customer-facing role. Knowledge of electric vehicles, automotive technologies, electrification, batteries, charging systems, or related technologies is preferred. Strong ability to understand and communicate technical products and solutions. Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Willingness to travel as required to support customers and business development activities. Certifications (Preferred, but not Required) Professional Engineering (PE) license. Relevant automotive, EV, battery, or electrification certifications. Technical sales or business development certifications.
