This is more than a traditional sales or cashier position. We are looking for a strong counter salesperson with solid plumbing knowledge who can understand customers' needs, recommend the correct products, troubleshoot common plumbing-related questions, and help ensure customers leave with the materials they need to complete their projects successfully. You will be a key point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while processing sales transactions, assisting with product selection, maintaining inventory, and using your plumbing knowledge to provide practical solutions.
A Little About Your Day:
Work directly with plumbers, contractors, homeowners, and other customers to understand their plumbing supply needs and help them select the correct products. Use your knowledge of plumbing products, materials, fittings, valves, pipe, fixtures, repair parts, and related supplies to provide accurate recommendations and solutions. Ask the right questions to understand each customer's project or repair and help identify the products and materials needed to complete the job. Recommend additional, alternative, or complementary products when appropriate. Assist customers in identifying plumbing parts and products and help troubleshoot common product and installation-related questions. Communicate with customers in person and over the phone, responding to questions and requests quickly, professionally, and accurately. Develop strong relationships with customers by providing knowledgeable, dependable, and personalized service. Maintain familiarity with our product lines, vendors, and new plumbing products. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales counter and customer area. Monitor inventory levels, assist with stocking merchandise, and help ensure commonly requested products are readily available. Success:
Previous plumbing industry experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of plumbing products, materials, fittings, fixtures, valves, pipes, repair parts, and general plumbing supplies. Previous experience working at a plumbing supply house, wholesale distributor, plumbing contractor, or similar environment is highly preferred. 3-5 years of successful counter sales, wholesale sales, plumbing, or related customer service experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide accurate product information. Basic computer skills. A high school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the sales and warehouse areas as needed.
