Position Summary and Responsibilities We seek an experienced sales and customer service support specialist in the library book wholesaling industry, or someone with comparable experience, for an office-based position involving frequent phone, email, and virtual meetings with customers nationwide. Occasional travel for conferences, trade shows, and customer events may be required.

We seek candidates who can:

Write strong professional emails without the use of AI. Confidently conduct presentations over Zoom / virtual meetings. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and represent Author's Note with college-level or equivalent communication skill and professionalism. Use Google Drive applications, Google Search, and Microsoft Office applications as well as CRM tools. Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, services, and ordering. Conduct client intake and discovery calls. Follow up on sales leads, prospects, and opportunities. Guide new school and library customers through the onboarding process. Develop and maintain strong relationships with librarians and library staff in schools, library systems, and libraries across the United States. Regularly check in with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities to provide additional support or services. Assist with requests for quotes (RFQs) and pricing information. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions. Support sales initiatives and contribute to customer retention and growth objectives. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in a CRM system. Resolve customer questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure orders, quotes, and customer requests are completed accurately. Bring warmth and friendliness to every customer interaction. Self-motivate and self-direct to work at a high level in a growing startup environment. Be a strong team player with a positive attitude and a collaborative work ethic. Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. 2+ years of experience in customer service, account management, inside sales, or a related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on customer requests. Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva presentations, and Hubspot and/or similar CRM tools. Professional appearance suited to representing the company in client meetings remotely, on site, and at tradeshows. Preferred Experience working with libraries, educational institutions, publishers, or book distribution companies. Knowledge of school and/or public library operations and collection development processes.
