Position Overview Best Defense Fire Protection & Security is seeking a motivated, technically minded professional to help grow our commercial fire protection, security, and life-safety business. This position combines account development, estimating, customer service, and project coordination. The right person will work directly with building owners, property managers, facility directors, general contractors, architects, and authorities having jurisdiction while coordinating with our design, service, inspection, installation, and scheduling teams. This is not a traditional "sell it and walk away" role. The successful candidate will direct opportunities from the first customer conversation through estimating, proposal follow-up, project handoff, and ongoing account support. What You Will Do Sales & Account Development Follow up on inbound leads, inspection deficiencies, service opportunities, monitoring conversions, and customer requests. Build long-term relationships with property managers, contractors, facility teams, building owners, and other commercial customers. Conduct customer meetings, jobsite walkthroughs, and site surveys to understand scope, urgency, and operating conditions. Identify opportunities for inspections, service agreements, monitoring, system upgrades, and capital improvement projects. Maintain disciplined proposal follow-up and clear communication throughout the sales cycle. Estimating & Proposals Prepare clear, accurate proposals for fire alarm, fire sprinkler service, inspections, monitoring, access control, CCTV, and emergency communication systems. Develop code compliant fire alarm sales designs from scratch. Training provided for the right candidate. Coordinate pricing and technical information with vendors, manufacturers, subcontractors, and internal departments. Explain proposed scope, exclusions, options, code-driven needs, and next steps in plain language. Help develop change orders and additional-scope pricing when project conditions change. Project Coordination Transition awarded work to design, operations, scheduling, service, inspection, and installation teams. Maintain customer communication on approvals, deposits, equipment lead times, scheduling, site readiness, and project status. Coordinate job information, documentation, and internal handoffs so work can move efficiently from proposal to completion. Assist in resolving scope questions, field conflicts, product-compatibility issues, and customer concerns. Keep CRM records, proposal status, notes, and follow-up activities current. Technical & Code Support Develop and maintain practical knowledge of commercial fire alarm, sprinkler, monitoring, access control, CCTV, and life-safety systems. Build working familiarity with
NFPA 72, NFPA 13, NFPA

Coordinate with fire departments, building officials, electrical inspectors, plan reviewers, and other authorities having jurisdiction when required. What We Are Looking For Strong written and verbal communication skills with a responsive, professional customer-service mindset. Ability to organize multiple active opportunities and projects without losing follow-up details. Comfort reading plans, specifications, inspection reports, and technical product information. Ability to prepare estimates and proposals and explain them confidently to customers. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and CRM or estimating software. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer and jobsite locations as needed. Preferred Background Commercial fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire inspection, monitoring, security, access control, CCTV, or low-voltage experience. Commercial construction sales, estimating, project management, property management, or facilities experience. Experience working with contractors, property managers, building owners, and authorities having jurisdiction. Relevant industry certifications, licenses, manufacturer training, or NICET credentials are valued but not required for every candidate. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary with commission or incentive opportunity. Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, depending on the final compensation package. Cell phone support or reimbursement. Health benefits, paid holidays, paid time off, and career advancement opportunities.
