Position Title:

Grocery Assistant Manager Department:

Grocery Department The Grocery Assistant Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Grocery & Liquor area. Direct and manage all functions and activities of Grocery & Liquor Department and achieve sales and profit goals. 1. Along with Grocery Manager, work out localized merchandising plans for the department. 2. Follow plans for effective space management based on movement, consumer demands and profitability. 3. Order merchandise when Manager is gone and control inventory to minimize out-of-stock and overstock and to maximize sales. 4. Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking and restocking cases to ensure quality protection, accuracy and product rotation. 5. Take action to control shrinkage and pilferage losses. 6. Effectively train and supervise other Grocery personnel. 7. Ensure favorable department image with customers through a clean, attractive and friendly department. 8. Follow all company policies and procedures. 9. Maintain and submit required records and reports. 10. Maintain good communication in store and throughout the organization. 11. Ensure compliance to local, state and government weights and measure laws. 12. Maintain a neat personal appearance according to the dress code policy. 13. Greet all customers and be observant.

Job Requirements:

1. High School education minimum requirement. 2. At least two years' experience in supermarket or related industry in management position. 3. Must have strong oral and written communication skills for dealing with customers, employees and vendors. 4. Ability to unload, transport and place merchandise to the specified area. 5. Must be able to work long and irregular hours. 6. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50#'s) up to twenty percent (20%) of the time. Must be able to stand, twist, squat, reach for up to eight hours.

Pay:

From $13.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
