Work Schedule Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Job Summary The Technology Support Technician provides entry-level technical and customer support to faculty, staff, and students experiencing technology-related issues. Working as part of the Information Technology team, this position assists with troubleshooting computer hardware, software, audiovisual equipment, phones, printers, and other supported technology. The technician responds to customer requests in person, by phone, and through the Help Desk ticketing system; documents technical issues and resolutions; assists with computer setup and deployment; and supports routine preventative maintenance and technology inventory activities. This position provides an opportunity to develop hands-on experience in an Information Technology support environment while building technical troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and documentation skills. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and one year of experience providing desktop user support or technical support involving equipment, networks, systems, telecommunications, technology security, or other technology relevant to the position. No substitutions or equivalencies for the High School Diploma or GED are permitted. Candidates must also meet applicable Federal Work Study eligibility requirements. Desired Qualifications 1. Experience providing customer service or technical support in a Help Desk, Service Desk, retail, educational, or similar customer-facing environment. 2. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to compose professional emails and clearly document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions. 3. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to provide professional and courteous assistance to customers with varying levels of technical experience. 4. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and/or macOS operating systems. 5. Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, printers, peripherals, and common technology troubleshooting techniques. 6. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, troubleshooting procedures, and Information Technology support practices. 7. Ability to follow established procedures, maintain confidentiality, and appropriately handle college technology and information.
