per yearJob Requisition ID #26WD100759Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Manager of Technical Sales. This position will lead a cross-industry field team of Account Technical Leads supporting our Territory Volume business.

The Technical Sales team partners with Sales to translate customer business challenges into technical solutions that drive measurable outcomes. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team focused on scalable, repeatable technical engagements that accelerate deal velocity across a high volume of opportunities.

You will be responsible for developing talent, driving technical sales execution, and establishing a consistent operating model that enables success across a broad and varied customer base.

ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop a team of Technical Sales supporting a Territory, volume-focused businessProvide ongoing feedback, mentoring, and career development to drive individual and team performanceFoster a high-performance, collaborative team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvementRecruit, onboard, and retain top technical sales talentPartner with Sales leadership to execute regional technical sales strategy across a high volume of opportunitiesEnsure the team effectively supports pipeline development, deal progression, and technical closureParticipate in forecast calls, account reviews, and business planning activitiesGuide the team in prioritizing efforts to balance deal velocity with technical depthEstablish best practices for discovery, demonstrations, and technical validation in a volume sales motionEnsure consistent, high-quality customer engagements across industries and use casesCoach the team to translate diverse customer needs into scalable, outcome-driven solutionsDrive adoption of standard demos, assets, and playbooks to improve efficiency and impactBuild and optimize a scalable technical sales operating model aligned to a volume businessImplement tools, processes, and metrics to improve productivity and consistencyEnable the team to manage multiple concurrent opportunities effectivelyBalance standardization with flexibility to support a wide range of customer scenariosPartner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Resellers and other internal functions to align on priorities and execution.

Act as a voice of the field by providing feedback on product gaps, competitive insights, and customer needsDrive alignment across teams to support key business initiatives and customer successMinimum Qualifications5+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or solution consultingProven success in high-volume / mid-market / SMB sales environmentsStrong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and deal progressionExcellent coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environmentDemonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholdersTravel 50%+ (including flights and international at times)The Ideal Candidate3+ years of experience in people management or team leadershipExperienced leader who can scale teams and drive consistent sales motions, accountability, and resultsStrong balance of technical acumen and business/sales mindsetComfortable operating across multiple industries and customer segmentsData-driven and operationally strong, with a focus on efficiency and impactEffective at influencing without authority and aligning diverse stakeholdersExperience in SaaS, cloud, or platform-based solutionsLocated in Denver, CO area is a plusLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $174,700 and $313,170. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
