Position Summary Northedge Steel is seeking an experienced sales professional to help customers select and purchase the right pre-engineered metal building for their needs. This is a high-volume, business-to-consumer sales role with leads primarily generated through online inquiries and company marketing channels. You will manage customer conversations from the initial inquiry through the sale, identify project needs, explain building specifications and options, prepare accurate quotes, and maintain consistent follow-up. We are looking for someone with a track record of managing an active sales pipeline, overcoming objections, and closing sales. The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, comfortable learning technical products, and motivated by performance-based earning potential. Metal-building experience is helpful but not required; product and system training will be provided. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Respond promptly to new customer inquiries and online leads by phone, email, and text. Understand each customer's project, including intended use, building size, location, budget, timeline, and installation needs. Learn and explain building styles, materials, colors, components, openings, upgrades, and purchasing options in clear, customer-friendly language. Prepare accurate quotes using approved pricing tools and confirm building specifications and customer selections. Maintain consistent follow-up, answer questions, address concerns, overcome objections, and confidently ask for the sale. Manage a high volume of leads and prioritize opportunities based on customer readiness and likelihood to purchase. Maintain accurate customer information, notes, quotes, sales activity, and follow-up dates in the CRM. Review purchase details, inclusions, exclusions, and next steps with customers before submitting complete and accurate orders. Meet established expectations for sales activity, follow-up, conversion, and annual sales volume. Coordinate with scheduling, operations, and customer service to support a positive customer experience and clear order handoffs. Refer technical or project questions requiring additional review to the appropriate team before making customer commitments. Develop a strong understanding of Northedge Steel's products, systems, and sales process. Qualifications Previous sales experience with demonstrated success managing leads and closing sales; high-volume B2C experience is preferred. Experience managing online inquiries, maintaining an active sales pipeline, and following up consistently through the purchasing decision. Strong phone presence and professional written communication skills. Ability to learn product specifications and explain technical information in terms customers can understand. Comfortable using CRM, quoting software, and other computer-based systems. Ability to manage multiple customers, deadlines, and priorities with strong attention to detail. Strong listening, communication, objection-handling, and problem-solving skills. Goal-oriented and motivated by performance-based compensation. Organized, dependable, coachable, and willing to learn. Sales backgrounds in automotive, home improvement, building materials, manufactured housing, or other products requiring detailed customer consultation are especially relevant. Steel-building experience is helpful but not required.
