This role is designed for an individual who is developing their technical skills and gaining hands-on experience while learning established procedures, equipment operation, and data analysis techniques. Key Responsibilities Apply job-related skills, policies, and procedures to complete a variety of routine technical tasks. Perform standard and non-standard assignments under the direction of experienced technical staff. Operate basic equipment and follow established operating and safety procedures. Conduct routine analysis of data and verify the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of completed work. Recognize deviations from established practices and procedures and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Clearly communicate routine research procedures, findings, and results for inclusion in technical reports and project documentation. Keep the supervisor regularly informed of work progress, findings, and any issues that may impact project objectives or timelines. Make recommendations for improvements or solutions when appropriate, while working within established guidelines and procedures. Assist with projects and assignments that require the application of developing technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. May provide guidance or training to less experienced personnel as technical knowledge and experience develop. May provide input regarding the performance and development of less experienced staff. Pursue applicable certifications, continuing education units, or other professional development opportunities as required. Qualifications Associate degree in a related technical field with at least one year of applicable experience; or An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Demonstrated technical knowledge sufficient to perform routine assignments. Ability to operate basic technical equipment and follow standard procedures and instructions. Ability to perform routine data analysis and recognize inconsistencies or deviations from established practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly document work, procedures, and results. Ability to work effectively under supervision while progressively developing independent technical judgment. Work Environment This position involves working closely with experienced technical personnel and following established procedures and guidelines. The Technician Trainee is expected to demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop technical skills, and take on increasing levels of responsibility as experience and proficiency are gained.
