Job Description

Part-Time Phone Research — Oil & Gas Paperwork Study (Midland/Odessa, $200 project) PlugFile LLC Midland, TX Job Details Temporary | Part-time | Contract $20

•$25 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Work from home Qualifications Oil & gas Research Phone canvassing Conducting sales calls Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description PlugFile LLC is a small Texas software company (plugfile.com). We are looking for one person in the Permian Basin to make about 100 phone calls to well-plugging contractors and write down what they tell us. This is a research project, not a sales job. There is nothing to close, no commission, no quota. The question we need answered. When a contractor plugs a well in Texas, the state requires a W-3 form within 30 days. We do not know who actually fills it out — the plugging contractor, or the operator who hired them. That answer is not in any public record, and it decides what we build next. So we are paying somebody local to just go ask.

The work:

We give you a list of about 40 Texas companies with phone numbers. You call them Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Small offices out here do not answer after 4. You use our script. It is four sentences long and it opens by telling them you are not selling anything, which is the truth. You write down what they said in a spreadsheet — one line per call, including the ones nobody picks up. You ask for an email address before you hang up.

Who we are looking for:

Somebody local to Midland, Odessa, or the surrounding basin , calling from a Texas number. These are small companies; they talk to people who sound like their neighbors and they hang up on call centers. Comfortable on the phone with strangers and comfortable hearing "no." Willing to write down what people actually said, word for word, including the rude parts. Oilfield experience is a plus, not a requirement. Pumper, roustabout, dispatch, service company office, land or minerals work — any of it helps. None of it is required, and we would rather you tell us plainly that you have none.

What you do not need:

computer skills beyond a spreadsheet, sales experience, or any interest in software. Hours and pay. This is a one-week project — about 8 to 12 hours total , at your own pace inside the calling window. We pay $200 for the finished project , which works out to roughly $20

•25 an hour for the time it should take.

Paid in two parts:

$60 once your first 25 calls are logged, $140 when all 100 are done and the notes are turned in. Work from home. If this goes well there is more of it.

Pay:

$20.00

•$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0

•12.0 per week People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Application Question(s): 1. What city are you in, and what is the area code of the phone you would call from? 2. Have you ever worked in or around oil and gas in any role? If yes, briefly what. If no, just say no — it will not count against you. 3. This is a research project, not a sales job: no commission, nothing to close, flat $200 for about 100 calls. Does that work for you? 4. Which hours between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Thursday, could you realistically be on the phone?
