In this role, you will contribute to innovative research in theoretical chemistry, advancing our understanding of physical and chemical processes in complex systems. Our research program combines the development of novel computational and theoretical methods with their application to scientific challenges of broad significance, addressing questions that are important to both the research community and society. The successful candidate must have extensive experience modeling the proteins of cardiac muscle and with such rare event simulation methods as Transition Path Sampling and Metadynamics. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is a university-wide unit with staff and faculty across both the College of Science and the College of Medicine. Our world-class research addresses critical topics in the chemical and biochemical sciences through the integration of multiple disciplines, including energy science and engineering, materials science and engineering, optical science, physics, computational science, biochemistry, chemical biology, biomedical engineering, drug discovery, structural biology, and molecular and cellular biology.
