Aug 21, 2026 Description The Department of Biological Sciences at Clemson University is seeking talented individuals for a full-time, 12-month Postdoctoral Research Fellow position starting from January 15th 2027. This is a non-tenure track position. The major responsibilities of the postdoctoral fellow are to carry out comparative developmental transcriptomic analyses, build interspecific mapping populations from taxa of interest, and implement target capture sequencing strategies to identify, validate, and characterize gene duplications across highly diverse plant taxa. The postdoctoral fellow will also oversee and mentor graduate and undergraduate research in the lab. About the
PI Lab:
The CapituLab at Clemson focuses on understanding molecular mechanisms underlying evolution and development in the sunflower family (Asteraceae). The lab's interests span across diverse fields of plant biology. These include molecular and developmental biology, genomics, genetics, microscopy and comparative anatomy/morphology. We are a training focused lab centered around expanding skillsets of the members of our group as well as toolkits for the broader plant functional genetic community. D. degree in a relevant field. Candidates must also have a documented record of excellence in genomic research. The ideal candidate will have experience in plant molecular and genomic techniques (including common library preparation methods) Experience in advanced computational analyses with relevant programming language knowledge (i.e. command line, R, python, etc)
Preferred :
