Pay:
$27/hour
License:
Class B CDL Hazmat Required Automatic restriction
OK Schedule:
Monday-Friday, approximately 4:00 AM-2:30 PM Weekend work: 2-3 weekends per month, working either
Saturday or Sunday Location:
Manhattan Beach, CA Main duties: Pick up chemicals/materials from buildings around the facility Transport them to the 90-day hazardous-material/waste area Decontamination and cleaning Emergency-response work during working hours Handle shipments that are taken off-site during the last week of the month Driving plus substantial hands-on/physical work Clean Harbors is looking for Chemical Handlers to join our safety conscious team!

  • High School diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • Hold a CDL Class B + hazmat endorsement
  • Prior chemical handling experience or chemistry knowledge preferred
  • BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science a plus;
  • Willingness to complete a background check, drug test, and physical.

  • CH InSite Chemists perform a wide range of tasks, including:
  • Making waste pickups at labs as needed
  • Packaging and labeling waste products and other materials
  • Identifying unknown chemicals when they are encountered
  • Performing inspections of staging, accumulating, and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance
  • Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for efficient and compliant disposal
  • Overall quality control of waste materials being stored and shipped
  • Completing required manifests and tracking paperwork
  • Utilizing CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste programs.
