Job Description

CleanPack Chemist Clean Harbors is seeking a CleanPack Chemist to join our environmental services team supporting hazardous and industrial waste management operations. In this lab-based role, you will perform analytical testing, characterization, and profiling of chemical, industrial, and hazardous waste streams to support safe treatment, disposal, and recycling decisions. Responsibilities include performing wet chemistry and instrumental analyses (GC, HPLC, spectrophotometry), maintaining and calibrating lab equipment, and preparing detailed reports and waste profiles. You will ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards while collaborating with field and operations teams. Conduct chemical analyses on industrial and hazardous waste samples to support treatment, disposal, and recycling processes Prepare, label, and manage chemical samples and reagents following strict laboratory protocols Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, spectrophotometers, and titration equipment Interpret test results, document findings, and prepare accurate technical reports and certificates of analysis Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality regulations, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials Collaborate with operations and field teams to provide technical support and solve waste characterization challenges Maintain detailed records, logs, and databases for samples, tests, and quality control activities Participate in continuous improvement, safety meetings, and audits to uphold Clean Harbors' safety-first culture Analytical chemistry Gas chromatography (GC) High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) Wet chemistry techniques (titrations, pH, extractions) Laboratory instrumentation calibration and maintenance Data analysis and technical report writing Knowledge of EPA environmental testing methods Hazardous materials handling and safety Quality control and documentation LIMS or laboratory data management systems Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations for hazardous materials Experience with GC/HPLC and wet chemistry techniques Knowledge of laboratory quality control and chain-of-custody procedures
