Job Description

Clean Harbors is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist to support our Environmental Services team. In this role, you will identify, categorize, sample, and package hazardous and non‑hazardous waste at client sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will perform field chemical segregation, prepare manifests and labels, and coordinate safe transportation and disposal. The Field Chemist partners closely with operations and clients to solve waste management challenges while maintaining a strict safety‑first mindset. This position offers hands‑on environmental impact, technical skill growth, and collaboration with an expert, mission‑driven team. Identify, classify, and segregate hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client sites Collect samples and perform basic field chemical analysis when required Package, label, and prepare waste for transportation in accordance with DOT and RCRA Complete manifests, logs, and regulatory documentation accurately Ensure strict adherence to Clean Harbors and client safety policies and procedures Inspect containers and storage areas to maintain environmental compliance Communicate with clients and internal teams to plan and execute field work Assist with emergency spill response and remediation tasks as needed Hazardous waste characterization Chemical compatibility and segregation RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance Waste sampling and analysis Manifesting and labeling hazardous materials Use of PPE and field safety protocols Spill response support Field data collection and documentation Operation of drum and bulk handling equipment Customer and site coordination Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k
