In this role, the Analytical Chemist will be responsible for recording results and observations in laboratory notebooks and must adhere to applicable standards (ISO, GMP, ICH, etc.).
ICP-MS EXPERIENCE PREFERED
Major Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Testing a wide variety of sample types using a variety of chromatographic and analytical techniques in a GMP/FDA regulated laboratory
Providing analytical support, including product and intermediate characterization, method development and validation, and routine testing using HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, and very strong ICP-MS and other analytical instrumentation
Developing, optimizing, and validating experiments in compliance with applicable SOPs and regulations
Actively reviewing analytical data to ensure consistent, timely delivery of accurate, high-quality information
Working with laboratory colleagues and project leaders to schedule testing to maximize efficiency; reporting any late projects to supervisor for notification to client services
Analyzing diverse analytical data and interpreting the results
Maintaining laboratory notebooks, logbooks, forms, and other documentation as required
Providing certificates of analysis, analytical results reports, and summaries for clients
Identifying and implementing opportunities for continual improvement in the delivery of services
Addressing unanticipated issues and problems in an expedient, efficient, and cost-effective manner
Providing technical expertise in the area of chemistry
Coordinating the maintenance, upkeep, calibration, and qualification of analytical instrumentation
Interacting with instrument manufacturer's technical services when appropriate
Following all safety, regulatory, and company procedures in the conduct of work
Completing and maintaining all training required and related to the duties of this position
Performing all responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, SOPs and protocols and appropriate industry, quality and regulatory standards, guidelines, rules and regulations
Performing other related duties as required
Required Qualifications:
BS, MS, degree in chemistry or related field, plus at least 5 years industry experience
Hands-on, technical experience of 7 or more years using HPLC, GC-MS, and UV-Vis
Must have experience with ICP-MS and other instrumentation in an analytical laboratory
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, managerial, and written communication skills
Expert knowledge of all aspects of development and testing of products
The ability to self-motivate to a high level of productivity
Attention to detail with excellent analytical skills and laboratory technique
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to achieve high quality lab work and meet deadlines
Good problems solving skills
Have a clear understanding of method development and validation processes
Proficiency in maintaining laboratory notes, reports, and operating procedures
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Current Good Manufacturing Practice experience preferred
Knowledge of FDA and ICH guidance is a plus
