Environmental Field Chemist Clean Harbors seeks an Environmental Field Chemist to support hazardous waste management for industrial and commercial clients. In this role, you will identify, sample, and categorize waste streams, ensuring proper handling, packaging, and documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations. You'll work in the field and at customer sites, using your chemistry knowledge to support safe collection, transport, and disposal. Collect, categorize, and profile hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at client sites and facilities Perform field testing, sampling, and basic chemical analysis to properly identify waste streams Ensure all waste handling, packaging, labeling, and storage comply with federal, state, and local regulations Prepare and maintain accurate manifests, logs, and documentation for transportation and disposal Operate and maintain field equipment, including meters, pumps, and sampling instruments Collaborate with operations, drivers, and disposal facilities to coordinate safe waste transport Follow Clean Harbors' safety protocols and use proper PPE at all times Support emergency spill response and remediation projects as needed Communicate hazards and procedures clearly to customers and internal teams Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and technical proficiency Hazardous waste characterization Chemical sampling and analysis Knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations Waste profiling and documentation Use of field monitoring equipment Safety and PPE compliance Environmental regulations and compliance Data recording and manifest preparation Industrial and lab hygiene practices Emergency spill response support Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k
HAZWOPER
40-hour certification (or ability to obtain) OSHA safety training DOT hazardous materials (hazmat) training Valid driver's license with clean driving record
