Chemist

II SHIFT

Rotating 3rd Shift; 7:00PM-7:00AM 2-2-3 Rotating Work Schedule (every other weekend)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Chemist II will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO, USP, CFR and other regulatory entities. Also responsible for ensuring the cGMP requirements are followed in the laboratory.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Microbiological Testing Sample preparation and testing following USP , and associated chapters

Aseptic technique in liquid and swabbing of samples

Gram staining and phenotypic ID using API

Environmental Monitoring in Plant and for Personnel

Maintain Microbiological Notebooks and digital records

CPM of Plant Systems and Laboratory Controls Chemical Testing GC

  • Maintenance and Operation
    HPLC or uHPLC
  • Maintenance and Operation
    Titration via manual or auto-titrator
    Solution preparations and Standard preparations and storage
    TOC
  • Maintenance and Operation
    FTIR
  • Maintenance and Operation
    UV/Vis
  • Maintenance and Operation
    pH/Density/Conductivity
    High Pressure gas bottle and Gas Generator maintenance Physical Testing Weights, diameters, thickness, volume, integrity, flow rates, etc.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.) BS degree in Chemistry or Biology or Physics

3-5 years experience in a QC Lab (preferably in an FDA or Pharma environment)

Qualitative and quantitative Chemical analysis skills. Strong math skills.

Strong Computer and Network Systems knowledge and application

Ability to handle a fast pace, high stress environment while still maintaining RFT testing results

Investigating Out of specification (OOS) test results (preferable knowledge of FDA Guidance)

Demonstrated strong analytical instrumentation trouble shooting skills

Advanced problem-solving skills, demonstrated self-driven innovative approaches to roadblocks

Attendance at ACS Short Courses and Certificates, or Short Courses online

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Moderate exposure to noise, fumes, odors, and hazards.

Environmental Monitoring and Plant Validation duties will require working in the Plant environment to collect samples.
