Job Summary Under the general direction of the Physician Principal Investigator and Site Manager, performs duties associated with coordinating and implementing complex gastroenterology clinical trials. The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator will work closely with physicians and the clinical team to identify appropriate patients, coordinate study visits, administer study medications, closely monitor research participants, and perform data collection and reporting.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include any and/or all of the following: Coordinates and manages aspects of clinical trials, including communication with sponsors and regulatory authorities. Identifies and recruits potential study participants, including assessing eligibility, discussing research opportunities, and participating in the informed consent process. Coordinates and documents research visits and procedures, including obtaining and processing laboratory specimens, obtaining vital signs and ECGs, adverse event and safety monitoring, and administration of study medications, including IV, subcutaneous, and oral medications. Maintains close communication with the Principal Investigator and/or Sub-Investigator regarding patient status, safety concerns, adverse events, and other clinically significant findings. Recognizes changes in patient condition and promptly notifies the Principal Investigator and/or Sub-Investigator when physician assessment or intervention is needed. Documents investigational drug accountability, including drug receipt, storage, preparation, dispensing, and return. Performs data collection and management, source document collection, electronic data entry, filing and archiving, monitoring visit coordination, and query management. Assists the Principal Investigator with administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of research studies and projects. Maintains compliance with applicable research regulations, study protocols, and Good Clinical Practice requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills required. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills required. Ability to administer IV, subcutaneous, and oral medications within the scope of RN licensure. Clinical research experience preferred but not required .
