This position is designed for someone with prior healthcare experience who is interested in building a long-term career in clinical research. The selected candidate will support our clinical research team while receiving hands-on training and progressively learning the responsibilities of a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) . Our goal is to develop the right candidate into a research coordinator as our clinical trial program continues to grow. This is initially a part-time contracted position , with the potential to transition into a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator position based on performance, demonstrated competency, and the needs of our growing research program. Schedule Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM 30-minute lunch break Approximately 18 hours per week On-site position in Clermont, Florida Compensation $17.00-$18.00 per hour , based on experience. Responsibilities The Clinical Research Assistant will work closely with our research coordinators, investigators, and other site staff.
Responsibilities may include:
Performing blood draws and processing laboratory specimens Preparing, labeling, centrifuging, and packaging research laboratory samples Assisting with clinical trial patient visits Obtaining and documenting vital signs Preparing examination rooms and study materials Assisting with patient recruitment and prescreening Contacting potential research participants Scheduling research visits and providing appointment reminders Maintaining accurate study documentation Assisting with research source documentation and data collection Maintaining study supplies and laboratory materials Supporting coordinators with day-to-day clinical trial activities Learning clinical trial protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and research site workflows Completing progressively more advanced research responsibilities as training and competency develop Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of healthcare/clinical experience Phlebotomy experience is required Must be comfortable independently performing venipuncture Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Professional communication skills Comfortable working directly with patients Ability to follow detailed protocols and written procedures Basic computer proficiency Reliable and punctual Ability to work the required Monday-Thursday schedule Preferred Qualifications Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, Research Assistant, or similar clinical background Experience processing and handling laboratory specimens Experience with electronic medical records Previous clinical research experience is helpful but not required Interest in developing a career in clinical research Career Growth This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has established clinical skills but wants to enter the clinical research field. The selected candidate will receive hands-on exposure to clinical trials and will be trained in research operations with the intention of developing the skills necessary to become a Clinical Research Coordinator . Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, attention to detail, patient-care skills, and the ability to learn clinical research responsibilities may be considered for a future full-time Clinical Research Coordinator position as our research program expands.
