Job Description

Owl's Head Alloys, an ESOP company. We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Safety and Environmental professional to join our team. Owl's Head Alloys is a 100% Employee-Owned (ESOP) offering competitive pay and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401 k and 401 k match. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all safety rules and procedures and wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Follow all environmental and safety policies and procedures including reporting incidents/nonconformities when they occur. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently according to all plant policies and procedures. Maintain the cleanliness of both stormwater outfalls including filtration equipment. Assist in development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs. Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA (or relevant local regulations). Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions. Promote a strong safety culture through training, communication, and leadership engagement. Assist with the development and monitoring of environmental performance indicators and reports. Assist with liaise with regulatory agencies on environmental matters Assist with the company's ISO certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) including audits, documentation, and continual improvement processes. Ensure documentation, procedures, and processes are maintained to ISO requirements. Conduct incident investigations for all injuries and near misses, regardless of severity. Follow and enforce safe work practices and procedures. Take immediate steps to correct unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards within their authority and ability to do so. Report any that cannot be corrected. Ensure the safe use of equipment and take defective equipment out of service. Ensure that all workers use the right equipment, PPE, protective devices or clothing that the employer requires to be used or worn. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all company safety procedures, rules, and regulations. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with co-workers, managers, and contractors. Maintain and continually improve the OH&S management system and ensure that the integrity of the OH&S is maintained when changes are made. Communicate the importance of meeting statutory and regulatory requirements. Ensure or make appropriate requests for the availability of resources needed for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the ISO's management systems. Analyze work environments to identify environmental risks; prioritizes and applies appropriate control mechanisms to address each concern. Assist in the development, update, and implement inspection policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations. Maintain current knowledge of developments in environmental and safety fields, and changes in federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This may include actively pursuing training opportunities and attending trade conferences. Work as part of the team to achieve company goals. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and implements best practices. Perform all other work as assigned.
