Job Description

Environmental Educator Position Summary The Environmental Educator plays a vital role in advancing our non-profit's mission to educate students and neighboring community members about the environment and its natural and cultural resources, while fostering a lasting love of nature through educational and public programming. Key Responsibilities Create and implement educational and community programs Lead School Age Vacation /Camp Programming Ensuring Safety and enjoyment of all program attendees Work closely with team members to achieve departmental goals Participate in staff meetings Assist as needed with organization wide fundraising events
Qualifications:
Degree or certification in Education (or related field). Some teaching/public programming experience preferred Knowledge/experience in subject matter such as Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or Ecology is helpful but not mandatory Candidate should have excellent public speaking skills, be comfortable in classroom and outdoor settings Experience with childcare/summer camps Physical Requirements and ADA Accommodations This position involves the following physical activities: Occasional prolonged periods of sitting at desk and working at computer Long periods of standing, walking Occasional bending, lifting and moving of items up to 25 lbs. Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
