Advantage Environmental Consultants, LLC (AEC) is seeking an entry level Staff Environmental Scientist to join our team. This entry level position requires 0-2 years of experience in environmental consulting, geology, environmental science, or related fields. The Mid-Level position requires 3-5 years of experience in the above fields. This position operates primarily out of our Jessup, Maryland office and can entail a mix of office work and field work depending on work flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this position will vary based on needs and work, but can include the following:

• Performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for both due diligence and regulatory compliance
• Conducting property condition assessments (PCAs), hazardous materials surveys, and asbestos containing materials building surveys
• Performing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
• Installation and sampling of groundwater monitoring wells
• Performing operations and maintenance (O&M) inspections on site remediation systems
• Conducting vapor intrusion (VI) assessments
• Performing excavation oversight on construction redevelopment projects
• Performing biological evaluations of nesting birds on cell towers
• Supervising the removal of underground storage tank (UST) systems and conducting environmental sampling as required by the local regulatory agencies
• Interacting and communicating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Assisting with report preparation

QUALIFICATIONS A

qualified candidate must exhibit the following:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or a related discipline is required
• Must be able to provide reliable transportation for daily commute to job sites - mileage will be reimbursed or a company vehicle will be provided
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• May occasionally be required to travel out of town and with short notice
• Basic knowledge of computer operations and standard software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe)
• OSHA 40-Hour
