EthosEnergy is recruiting for an EH&S Specialist for the Bethlehem Energy Center which is a Siemens V84.2 combined cycle plant located in Bethlehem, PA. This position will report to the Facility Manager on site. Essential responsibilities of this critical role include coordination, implementation and support of Health, Safety and Environmental plans, policies, procedures, and compliance programs. Success in this role requires providing direction and support to the Management team with strategic EH&S planning and program development to continuously improve EH&S performance along with government regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage implementation of HSE policies and procedures
Conduct periodic reviews of programs and update to meet regulations and/or corporate directives
Manage environmental and safety program to ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations
Complete and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental reporting
Train employees on plans such as emergency response, spill and fire prevention, risk management, storm water pollution prevention, environmental compliance, and any other site-specific EHS plans/programs
Communicate with regulatory agencies to address environmental reporting, deviations, and notices of non-compliance and be compliant on quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly reports
Provide technical expertise, guidance, and training in areas such as confined space, lockout tag out, fall protection, respirators, forklifts and mobile equipment, hot work, JSA's, and PPE
Manage the Contractor Safety Program
Coordinate and/or perform required environmental reporting and testing activities
Ensure that environmental programs and permits are properly implemented to maintain full compliance with all permits
Support performance of quarterly safety inspections and environmental program reviews. (Implement corrective action as needed)
Conduct and coordinate injury and near-miss investigations and generate reports focusing on the root cause. (Ensure corrective measures are identified and implemented as needed)
Collaborate with management team to develop and implement annual EHS plans, goals and strategies
Conduct, manage and track required safety and environmental training of plant employees through computer-based software
Chair safety committee, run weekly meetings and provide consultation and technical support as needed
Maintain all required EHS and medical screening records as required by applicable regulations and/or EEOM procedures
Review, analyze and evaluate plant chemistry and environmental data to generate reports and recommendations
Provide oversight and direction to station environmental compliance programs
Operate testing equipment and conduct and/or manage scheduled chemistry, environmental and performance testing to generate reports and recommendations
Maintain the facility Chemistry Laboratory QA/QC Program and Chemical Hygiene Plan
Maintain professional affiliations with safety and environmental organizations to keep current with new environmental and safety regulations and good management practices
Required Skills / Knowledge
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple / varied tasks efficiently.
Experience
Five or more years' experience in industrial Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects and control activities.
Experience in combined cycle power generation facility preferred.
Experience implementing EHS management systems.
A demonstrated track record in implementing corporate HSE policies and procedures and/or developing and implementing site-level HSE procedures.
Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze complex problems, distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions; and to provide solutions to specific and general EHS matters.
Experience in participating in audit teams.
Experience conducting training end users
Education Requirements
A four-year degree or commensurate experience/professional training in environmental, safety, engineering, or related science discipline
Physical Requirements
Position requires periods of physical exertion, including walking, climbing ladders, and walking up and down stairs.
Ability to lift and move material up to 50 pounds.
Occasional travel in support of business needs may be required.
