PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Environmental Lead is a critical member of the Waxahachie plant EHS department, providing guidance and coaching to drive ownership and accountability in the areas of environmental compliance and stewardship related to all plant activities.

Reports to: Environmental, Health, & Safety Leader
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Environmental Compliance Drive and maintain compliance with Environmental operating permits, such as US EPA, Title V air permits, Municipal Wastewater permits, Landfill Permit and State or local Storm Water Permits.
Develop and implement environmental programs such as air and water compliance, above
•ground and underground storage tanks, spills prevention and control, hazardous waste and materials management, solid waste recycling and employee training.
Develop and maintain environmental monitoring and recordkeeping to satisfy requirements of the plant's operating permits.
Manage Spill Prevention Countermeasure & Control Plan
Lead plant-wide environmental incident investigations to maintain compliance with all permits and regulations.
Knowledge of key required Environmental recordkeeping or reporting tools like, "STEERS", "Tier II Submit", "TriMe", "Lotus Notes"., etc.
Manage all aspects of the plant's Hazardous waste, Solid waste and Universal waste within Federal, State and Local guidelines.
Assess product, process, and operational changes to determine environmental impact.
Implement, facilitate, and drive a robust Environmental Management System
Provide regulatory guidance to facility leadership team and operating personnel.
Review or change policies and procedures to comply with changes to Environmental regulations and standards.
Facilitate required Environmental testing of air, water, and water sources.
Interact with outside consultants on regulatory and permitting changes.
Enroll as the plant liaison on environmental issues affecting community and industrial neighbors.
Maintain a leadership presence on the plant floor, influence employee and Supervisory behaviors, and fully engage employees in the sound environmental process management.
Provide leadership required ensuring operations and maintenance personnel are ware of and held accountable for environmental compliance
Enroll and engage the entire workforce to build a powerful safety culture
Prioritize and advocate capital/ resource requests and advise the leadership team on all aspects of environmental requirements and responsibilities.
Develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of all critical Environmental processes, programs and procedures.
Sets and accomplishes critical environmental metrics regularly to ensure continuous improvement in the processes that lead to a 100% engaged culture on the floor.
Live the Safety Stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities
Grow and develop the plant EHS Advocate
Make sure Environmental Preventive Maintenance indicator is 100% according to our Federal, Local or Municipal Permits Sustainability Guide the environmental committee in annual energy, waste and water goals and ensure proper training and resources for the team to accomplish goals.
Lead and support Environmental initiatives and processes to drive towards zero non
•conformities and NOVs

•Lead and actively participate in the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts and implementing Autonomous Maintenance (AM) practices and visual metrics for EHS Pillar Team
Work with Division resources to facilitate Corporate Sustainability reporting, GHG reporting, MACT and other current or pending regulatory requirements.
Interact with Operations team to review the Loss trees for Wastewater and Waste to Landfill projects needed to reduce our footprint at the plant.
Facilitate and provide Leadership to reduce Wastewater and Waste to Landfill efforts and generate the Capital Projects accordingly to Sustainability Goal in OC for 2030.
Metrics:
Federal, State and Local Environmental requirements
Corporate, Division and Plant Environmental and Sustainability metrics, including ENCs and NOVs
Plant Safety Metrics, including required Environmental training.
Environmental Management System and EHS Pillar Scores.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum Qualifications:
3
•5 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Bachelor's degree
•in Environmental, Sustainability discipline is strongly preferred, engineering, business management or related discipline.
Management Systems experience Leading change management efforts
Air emissions calculations and reporting strongly preferred
EPA and Texas environmental legal requirements as plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Leading change management
Forward thinking leadership abilities including the ability to motivate, lead by example, and encourage teamwork and effective communication.
Ability to establish a rapport with local, state and federal governmental agencies.
Experience with managements systems.
60% of their schedule on the plant manufacturing floor/ 40% at their desk.
