Position Summary The Environmental Specialist supports the facility's environmental compliance programs by assisting with regulatory compliance, sustainability reporting, environmental monitoring, data collection, and inspections. This position performs environmental inspections, audits, data management, training, and regulatory reporting activities. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, maintenance, and management to help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while promoting environmental stewardship and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in maintaining compliance with the facility's Title V Air Permit and other applicable environmental regulations. Perform and participate in environmental compliance audits and inspections to verify adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies. Maintain environmental compliance records, log sheets, inspection reports, and other required documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Obtain and perform EPA Method 9 Visible Emissions Observer certification within the first year of employment and maintain required certifications and records. Monitor environmental performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Collect, compile, validate, and enter sustainability data for environmental reporting and performance tracking. Assist with preparation of regulatory reports, permit documentation, and agency inspections as required. Develop and deliver environmental compliance training for employees and contractors as needed. Support environmental incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions. Participate in the department's scheduled on-call rotation for assigned weekends. Follow all company safety policies and procedures and perform all work in a safe manner. Perform other environmental compliance, sustainability, regulatory support duties as assigned. Assist Environmental manager with SAP requisitions, invoices and budget tracking. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability, chemistry, biology or a related field preferred. Two or more years of environmental experience in an industrial, mining or manufacturing environment preferred. Working knowledge of EPA, Wyoming environmental regulations, and Title V Air Permit requirements preferred. Experience with environmental inspections, audits, emissions monitoring, or sustainability reporting preferred. Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with environmental or sustainability databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Physical Requirements Ability to work in both office and industrial manufacturing environments. Ability to walk long distances, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights when necessary. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
