Full Job Description Environmental Technician Pay:
Starting at $35,000 per year
Experience:
No environmental experience required — paid training provided! Looking for a Career Where Every Day Is a Little Different? If you like being out in the field, working with a team, learning new skills, and not sitting behind a desk all day , this might be a great fit for you. We're a small, close-knit environmental consulting company looking for an Environmental Technician to join our team. You'll work on a variety of projects throughout Hawaiʻi, helping make buildings and work areas safe during asbestos, lead, mold, demolition, and other environmental projects. Never worked in environmental consulting before? That's okay. We provide paid training and will teach you what you need to know. We're more interested in finding someone who is dependable, pays attention, is willing to learn, and takes pride in doing a good job. What You'll Be Doing Your days won't always look the same. Depending on the project, you may: Meet with contractors and foremen to go over the work being performed. Set up air monitoring equipment and collect air samples. Monitor demolition, cleaning, and hazardous-material removal projects. Make sure crews are following OSHA, Department of Health, and project safety requirements. Document what happens on-site and prepare accurate daily field records. Inspect work areas to make sure hazardous materials have been properly removed. Help determine when a work area is clean, safe, and ready for clearance. What We're Looking For You don't need to come in knowing everything — we'll train you. What matters most is your attitude and work ethic. We're looking for someone who: Shows up on time and can be counted on. Listens well and follows instructions. Pays attention to the little details. Is comfortable working independently once trained. Communicates well with coworkers, contractors, and clients. Is willing to learn and ask questions. Is comfortable using basic hand and power tools. Doesn't mind getting out in the field and working in different environments. Has some construction or demolition knowledge — a plus, but definitely not required. A Few Things to Know This isn't a typical Monday-through-Friday desk job. Environmental projects happen at different times, so flexibility is part of the job. Our technicians rotate through occasional night shifts, weekend work, and travel projects . Hours can vary depending on the project, which can also mean opportunities for additional hours and different types of work. You'll need reliable personal transportation to travel to project sites. Mileage reimbursement is provided when applicable. Why Join Us? We're a close-knit team that values people who are dependable, willing to learn, and can be counted on to support the team. You'll get hands-on experience, learn skills you may not find in a typical job, and have opportunities to grow into more advanced roles as you gain experience. We're looking for someone who wants more than just their next job. We want someone who is interested in learning a specialized trade, building a career, and growing with our company long-term. If you're dependable, curious, willing to learn, and ready for something different, we'd love to meet you.
