Therapeutic Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncology - Certified or Board Eligible Cone Health - 3.6 Greensboro, NC Job Details 14 hours ago Qualifications Master's degree Full Job Description The Therapeutic Physicist Certified facilitates the appropriate use of x-rays, gamma rays, electrons and other charged particle beams in the treatment of disease. This role also monitors the performance of the equipment associated with therapeutic procedures and applies the standards for the safe use of radiation.
Essential Job Function:
Performs and manages regularly scheduled quality assurance testing of treatment related machines and/or systems. Performs any radiation treatment that requires a therapeutic medical physicist to be present. Evaluates any computer aided planning and/or calculation for radiation treatment (external beam and brachytherapy). Performs patient related dosimetric measurements to evaluate treatment quality. Provides consultation to radiation oncologists, clinical staff and patients if requested. Participates in acceptance and commissioning. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Required:
Masters Degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related field.
Experience:
Required:
1 year of medical physics experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
Required:
Certified by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
