3003317449-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Diagnostic Medical Physicist to support high-quality imaging across our network. In this role, you will perform equipment testing, calibration, and optimization for CT, MRI, X-ray, and nuclear medicine, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance. You will lead imaging quality assurance, advise radiologists and technologists, and support accreditation efforts. Responsibilities Perform and supervise diagnostic imaging physics procedures to ensure safe, accurate, and high-quality imaging services Conduct equipment acceptance testing, calibration, and routine performance evaluations for modalities such as CT, MRI, X-ray, and nuclear medicine Develop, implement, and maintain imaging quality assurance and quality control programs in compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body standards Optimize imaging protocols to balance diagnostic image quality with patient radiation dose reduction and safety Provide technical guidance and consultation to radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff on imaging physics, dose management, and best practices Support regulatory compliance, documentation, and readiness for accreditation surveys (e.g., The Joint Commission, ACR) Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning related to imaging safety and performance Contribute to staff training and education on imaging physics, radiation safety, and use of new technologies Collaborate on research, innovation, and technology assessment initiatives to enhance diagnostic imaging services Support implementation and integration of new imaging equipment and software across the health system Required Skills Diagnostic imaging physics Radiation safety and dosimetry CT physics and protocol optimization MRI physics and safety X-ray and fluoroscopy physics Nuclear medicine/PET physics Equipment calibration and QA/QCRegulatory and accreditation compliance PACS/RIS and imaging informatics basics Data analysis and report writing
