The School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, in partnership with the Morgan State Patuxent Environmental and Aquatic Research Laboratory, invites applications for the Director of the newly established Center for Urban and Coastal Climate Science Research. The Center focuses on climate‑change impacts on ecosystems, built environments, the economy, and the health of Maryland residents, seeking a distinguished scientist to lead research and educational initiatives in areas such as urban air quality, environmental health, community resilience, coastal watershed dynamics, and sustainable fisheries management. Job Duties Implement the Center's strategic vision and research agenda. Develop and execute a robust research program in your specific area of climate science. Expand the Center's reach by securing external funding through grants, contracts, and partnerships. Train students and mentor early‑stage investigators to develop independent environmental researchers. Lead the evaluation and enhancement of the Center's research activities. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics The candidate should have a nationally recognized record of research accomplishments, demonstrated through current publications and secured funding; significant leadership experience; and a strong commitment to advancing climate science research. The individual will hold a faculty appointment within the School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences.
