Job Description

Job Summary Primary duties entail assisting Dr. Dale Thomson with research and logistical tasks related to his project, "Preserving the Story of Community Development in Detroit." Responsibilities

  • The job duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting with the following: Literature searches and reviews Collecting and compiling data related to community development in Northwest Detroit Planning and conducting interviews with community members Drafting interview summaries Web site development/maintenance Other tasks related to successful implementation of the project Required Qualifications• The research assistant must have the following qualifications: Student at the University of Michigan Sophomore standing or higher Ability to work independently Evidence of strong academic performance Strong verbal and written communication skills Desired Qualifications• The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications: Knowledge of the community development field Familiarity with the city of Detroit Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.

Work Schedule 10-15 hours per week.
