Position Information Position Title Student Research Assistant Requisition Number H02077P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 2-20 Months per year 9 Alternate work schedule 0-20 hours per week as needed until project complete. Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate 20.00 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function A student assistant is required for a short-term research project to be performed at the Engineering Technology Building in Ogden, UT. The project's scope entails project support through design and manufacturing tasks in a collaborative industry automation project.
Tasks will include the following:
Advanced CAD design, advanced manual machining, advanced fabrication and welding of various automation components and structures. Assembly of automation components and structures. Required Qualifications 3-6 months work/course related experience. Engineering student applicant must have documented experience in one or more of the following skills: Advanced CAD design using SolidWorks including 3D printing. Design for manufacturing and assembly. Manual mill machining. High tolerance milling, drilling, boring, tapping. Sheet metal forming, cutting, bending and welding.
Fabrication:
cutting (saws, laser), fitting and TIG welding aluminum tubing and plate to create project structures and weldments.
Electrical Engineering:
Create assembly technical drawings and schematics. Verify automation electrical design.
