Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Agronomist to join our team and drive excellence in agricultural research, development, and sustainable farming practices. Responsibilities Design and implement field experiments to evaluate crop varieties, soil treatments, pest management strategies, and new farming techniques. Conduct laboratory analyses in biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, and molecular biology to support research initiatives. Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical tools such as R and Python to identify trends and inform decision-making. Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to map and analyze spatial data related to soil properties, crop performance, and environmental factors. Develop predictive models using machine learning algorithms to forecast crop yields, disease outbreaks, or pest infestations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on research & development projects aimed at improving crop resilience and sustainability. Maintain detailed records of experiments, data collection procedures, and analysis results for transparency and reproducibility. Stay current with advancements in agriculture sciences including horticulture, greenhouse management, genetics, and molecular biology to incorporate innovative practices into ongoing projects. Support farmers by providing technical advice on sustainable farming practices based on scientific research findings. Contribute to the publication of research findings in scientific journals or industry reports to share knowledge with the broader agricultural community. Experience Proven experience in scientific research within agriculture or related fields such as horticulture, microbiology, biochemistry, or genetics. Hands-on laboratory experience including molecular biology techniques, microbiological assays, or biochemistry protocols. Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in R and Python for statistical computing and machine learning applications. Experience with experimental design principles ensuring valid and reliable results. Familiarity with GIS tools for spatial data analysis related to farming environments. Practical greenhouse experience or fieldwork involving crop cultivation and soil management. Knowledge of farming systems, sustainable agriculture practices, or precision agriculture technologies is highly desirable. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets into actionable insights. Strong communication skills for presenting research findings clearly to both technical teams and agricultural practitioners.
