As Wildlife Coordinator, you will help guests discover the animals, habitats, and stories that make Nemacolin's Wildlife Adventures distinctive while developing practical expertise in animal husbandry, guest programming, and daily operations. What You Will Create Memorable connections between guests and Nemacolin animals through guided wildlife tours, expeditions, trail and pony rides, educational animal shows, and knowledgeable interpretation Confidence and comfort throughout guest interactions by providing attentive care, operating expedition carts and vehicles safely, and helping guests enjoy equestrian and wildlife experiences Healthy, thriving animals through daily husbandry that includes feeding, enclosure care, grooming, bathing, clipping, enrichment, and hands-on support across a diverse animal collection Thoughtful nutrition and individualized care by preparing specialized diets, following established guidance, and recognizing the unique needs of the animals in your care Safe, welcoming environments through attention to barns, trails, enclosures, equestrian areas, and facilities used by animals, associates, and guests Continuity and confidence in animal care through accurate records, basic medical treatments within established guidelines, and timely communication of observations or concerns Greater appreciation for wildlife and the natural world by sharing engaging, accurate information about animals, habitats, conservation, and environmental concerns What You Can Expect A hands-on leadership role balancing animal care, guest engagement, associate development, and operational coordination through systems, computer programs, and personal interactions Daily work with exotic and domestic animals in outdoor, barn, enclosure, equestrian, and guest-facing environments Opportunities to participate in guided tours, expeditions, animal programs, trail and pony rides, and other Wildlife Adventures experiences A physically active position involving standing, walking, lifting, bending, cleaning, driving, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions A collaborative team environment where you will learn from experienced wildlife professionals and build skills across animal care, interpretation, and hospitality A schedule that may include weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and special events based on operational needs What You Bring Genuine curiosity about animals and the ability to approach animal care with patience, attentiveness, and respect A warm, engaging presence that helps guests feel informed, comfortable, and connected to the experience A composed and attentive approach when working around animals, guests, equipment, and changing priorities A team-oriented mindset and willingness to support shared responsibilities across Wildlife Adventures Strong attention to detail in animal care, cleanliness, communication, and recordkeeping A commitment to safety, animal welfare, established care standards, and consistent follow-through The ability to learn new procedures, accept coaching, and develop confidence through hands-on experience Clear communication skills and the judgment to recognize and promptly share changes in animal condition, guest needs, or operational concerns Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred A degree in animal science, wildlife biology, or a related discipline preferred Previous experience working with animals, wildlife, agriculture, veterinary care, equestrian operations, education, hospitality, or a related field preferred Ability to obtain and maintain any required licenses or certifications associated with assigned responsibilities Valid driver's license and ability to operate resort vehicles or equipment as required Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and special events as operational needs require Ability to meet the physical demands of animal care, including lifting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, cleaning, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Additional Information This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties, responsibilities, or activities associated with this position.
