The City of Missouri City, known as the "Show Me City," is seeking a Traffic Signal Specialist . This is a full-time position in the City's Public Works Department. This person is responsible for installing, repairing, monitoring, maintaining, operating, and reporting on the City's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).
Reporting Relationship:
Traffic Operations Manager Assists in the development and implementation of Divisional Goals and Objectives to meet the Departmental Mission. Performs administrative duties, including budget development and contract administration. Supervises contractors by processing work requests and job orders, assigning work duties, monitoring work duty purchases,approving timesheets, completing accident reports, and implementing policies and procedures. Responsible for assisting in the overall operation and maintenance of the City's Traffic Management Center. Reviews and makes recommendations on technical improvements, procedures, or protocols to continuously improve traffic signal timing, phasing, construction, and communications. Reviews and approves recommended changes and/or improvements to traffic operations. Provides assistance with Project Management and Contract Administration and Management for various operational and capital improvement programs, including Traffic Signal Upgrades and Repairs, Traffic Studies, Mobility Coordination, Traffic Calming, Traffic Impact Analysis, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Plan Review. Performs the duties of the Traffic Operations Manager in their absence. Performs other related duties as assigned. Subject to 24-hour recall. High school diploma Associate's degree in Traffic Management, Engineering, Logistics, or Physical Distribution from an accredited college or university preferred Minimum of six (6) years of relevant traffic operations experience required International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level II Certification required
