Our mission is to deliver high-quality services with excellence, consistency, and humility for Unduplicated (Chronically Absent, English Learner, Low-Income, and Foster Youth) students and those with IEPs.
Job Description:
As a Tutor/Academic Coach/Mentor, you will provide academic support and mentorship to independent studies high school students in Madera Unified School District. Our student-centered approach empowers students to develop foundational skills essential for their academic and personal development.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, creative, and sustainable strategies to assist students in completing their assignments and developing essential academic skills. Provide individual face-to-face academic support during school hours as well as after school. Services conducted at the school site, in-home, and in community locations. Communicate effectively, advocate for students, and document progress, accomplishments, and challenges. Implement holistic and flexible strategies and interventions to address the diverse academic needs of students and their families.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Strong communication skills Independent and goal-oriented Punctuality and consistency with attendance, regulatory documentation, and paperwork submission Reliable transportation Pass a DOJ/FBI background check Experience working with children/youth Strong interpersonal skills Tutoring Experience (1 year preferred) Commitment until the end of the 2026-2027 school year Availability to work a fixed schedule - Wednesday to Friday from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM Availability to work an additional 15 hours a week apart from the above fixed schedule. These hours could include weekends.
