Job Description

SCHOOL ADJUSTMENT COUNSELOR

Certification required

0.5 FTE

Provide social emotional support to all students, individually and in small groups, including counseling services identified in IEPs and 504 plans.

Implement curriculum and support school-wide social emotional learning initiatives.

Assist with the assessment of students' social-emotional and behavioral needs and the development of appropriate interventions.

Participate as a member of IEP and student support teams, including developing and monitoring social emotional goals and interventions.

Provide crisis intervention or de-escalation support to students, as needed.

Consult and collaborate with staff and caregivers to support students' social-emotional, behavioral, and school adjustment needs.

Collaborate with outside agencies and resources and make referrals as needed.

Coordinate caregiver programs and supports within the school setting.

Support student transitions and accommodations to be successful in the school setting.

Support students and caregivers in promoting regular attendance and engagement with school.
