Job Description

Leidos seeks a School Military and Family Life Counselor to support military-connected students and families in school settings. In this on-site role, you will provide confidential, short-term, non-medical counseling to help children and caregivers manage deployment cycles, transitions, stress, and everyday challenges. You will offer individual and group support, classroom presentations, and resilience-building workshops while collaborating closely with school staff and military leadership. Responsibilities Provide short-term, non-medical counseling to military-connected students and families in school settings Deliver individual and group sessions to address stress, deployment adjustment, and family transitions Conduct classroom presentations, workshops, and outreach activities that build resilience and coping skills Collaborate with school staff, administrators, and military leadership while maintaining confidentiality Identify at-risk students and follow appropriate crisis intervention and referral protocols Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with Leidos and program standards Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development Support data-driven program improvement and reporting requirements Required Skills School-based counseling Military family support Short-term, solution-focused therapy Crisis intervention and risk assessment Child and adolescent behavioral health Case documentation and reporting Group facilitation and psychoeducation Stakeholder collaboration (schools and military) Confidentiality and ethical practice Cultural competence and resilience training
