Job Description

Step into a meaningful contract role guiding and encouraging a high school senior through her final year of schooling. Based primarily at a local high school, this position offers diverse responsibilities within an engaging and supportive educational environment. Youll work closely with one student, providing essential standby emotional support, academic assistance, and reliable transit companionship during both school and internship hours. What Youll Bring Prior experience as a paraprofessional or similar role in a school setting Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with teenagers Reliable time management and punctuality for daily transit Flexibility to adapt to changing needssome days involve travel to an internship site or remaining on campus to help with coursework and flex tasks A compassionate and patient personality, particularly when supporting students resistant to assistance High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications a plus Your Responsibilities Start each day by clocking in at the designated high school location Ride the district bus with the student to the Impact Academy in Dover, providing supportive companionship (travel time is approximately one hour each way) Serve as standby support throughout the school day, assisting with emotional and academic needs Offer focused academic help, particularly with history coursework, back at the home high school in the afternoon Accompany the student to a weekly car detailing internship on Fridays, remaining present for emotional encouragement On Fridays when the student is independent, contribute to other supportive tasks on campus as needed Complete district-provided Vector training immediately upon hire This is an impactful chance for someone passionate about student success to make a daily difference.
