10/16/2026 Located along the scenic Hudson and Croton rivers, the Croton-Harmon School District is home to a diverse community. The personalized approach to teaching found in our schools makes the District one of the most successful in a county known for the high quality of its public schools. Croton-Harmon High School has an anticipated opening for a Leave Replacement School Counselor beginning on approximately November 16, 2026. We are looking for candidates with knowledge of college counseling as well as social emotional support, programming, mental health support, substance abuse support, and a passionate individual who can work collaboratively with our administrative team and our counseling department. The candidate must have NYS certification. Spanish bilingual candidates are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be able to: Plan and implement a comprehensive school counseling curriculum as part of our district school counseling plan. Utilize school and district resources such as instructional/pedagogical coaching and mentoring. Provide mental health counseling and support for students. Commit to ongoing professional learning and develop and adjust practices on an ongoing basis to meet students' needs and interests. Stay current on best and burgeoning practices and trends in school counseling and college admissions. Commit to our district's Vision Map that centers on reimagining learning, pursuit of passion, and building a culture of wellness in a future-focused system in an effort to develop "What School Can Be." Plan collaboratively with colleagues and be open to sharing and learning with and from others. Create a personalized learning environment for students that meets individual needs and challenges students to reach their full potential. Have the ability to self-evaluate, be reflective and problem solve.
Qualifications Education:
Master's Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or similar.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience preferred.
Certificates & Licenses:
